I am flexible in my approach to working with clients, so please contact me to discuss a time for therapy that works well for both of us. I'm a very early riser, and so I'm available from early morning through to early evening. The mornings can be perfect for outdoor therapy sessions, walking in some of south Liverpool's incredibly beautiful parks.
Therapy sessions cost £50 and last one hour.
About me and my therapy practice
I believe we are all unique individuals, experiencing our own special journey through this life. At times we can be enjoying the journey but, just as the seasons change, so does life, and sometimes we find ourselves struggling. It's a fact of life that we will all experience problems at some point in our journey...there are no exceptions! If you're struggling right now and feel you need someone to accompany you on this stage of your journey, then I encourage you to email me or call me. We can have an informal chat about what's going on for you at the moment and see if there's some way I might be able to assist you.
It might turn out that I'm not the right therapist/coach for you, and I think it's essential that you find the right person to work with...you're paying good money for therapy and deserve the right support.
However, you might find I'm exactly the type of therapist you're looking for. If that's the case, then we can begin our work together and I'll help you to navigate this challenging leg of your journey. Remember, you're not alone!
Practice description
For me, the most important part of therapy, and the most influential factor in the success of our work together, is the quality of the working relationship that we build together. This helps create trust between us, and this trusting working relationship leads to openness and honesty. These are the foundations for our work together, and will enable us to explore your current situation thoroughly.
I am trained in Integrative counselling, which enables me to use different methods (modalities), from different types of therapy, to help you make progress once again in your life. As I mentioned earlier, you are unique, and so the therapeutic approach I choose will be specifically for you, depending on your circumstances.
I have the privilege of having travelled all over the world and have worked in various roles and environments throughout my working life, some of them quite challenging...but very interesting. I have a great deal of lived experience, as well as theoretical knowledge, and I believe this makes me a more rounded person, who isn't easily shocked and is easy going and tolerant.
Whether it be substance addiction, grief, depression, anger or relationship problems, I've had my fair share, and I'm still standing! If I've got through problems like these (and more!), I'm confident I can help you get through yours. I recently celebrated 29 years of alcohol-free living, so, if alcohol is an issue in your life, I may be able to support you with tackling that.
If you choose to work with me, you can bring any issues at all to our sessions. You will be safe to express your thoughts and feelings in a confidential environment and won't be judged or treated differently. Anything and everything is welcome.
My first session
I understand that it can feel difficult deciding if counselling or coaching is right for you at this moment in time. To help you make the best decision, I offer a free 20-minute telephone call for you to discuss your needs, and ask any questions that you might have, before deciding whether to book our first session together.
If we do go on to work together, our first session will give you the chance to open up more, and we can begin to build up that trusting working relationship I referred to earlier. Whoever you choose to work with, I wish you all the best on this journey we call 'Life'!
