About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I am a qualified, registered and experienced psychotherapist working both face to face and online.

I offer one-to-one psychotherapy and counselling sessions face to face in the heart of Aberdeen.

I also offer online sessions within the UK.

I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), a contributing Member of the Society for Existential Analysis (SEA). I am currently completing a Masters in Existential Psychotherapy at Regent's University.

I am in continual continued professional training and adhere to the code of ethics set out by the BACP.

Practice description

Whatever your reason for seeking psychotherapy or counselling I offer you a space for you to come as you are.

I will give you my undivided attention, so that together we can explore your world and how it feels to live in it.

I work in a holistic way; we are living, animated bodies, not simply a mind with a body. So much of our pain is held implicitly within the body. I will bring curiosity to your entire experience; your imagination, your dreams, your body sensations and expressions as well as your emotions and cognition. In making connections that bring together your entire way of experiencing therapy becomes more about better feeling, instead of simply feeling better.

I offer a warm, accepting and open environment for you to be heard and seen. In my experience it is these qualities that make therapy such an extraordinary space. That through self-enquiry and subsequent self-knowledge and acceptance the way we meet ourselves and the world can become profoundly different.

My first session

Whether meeting in person or online our first meeting will always be an assessment session. This session will be slightly different to our ongoing work together as it gives us a chance to meet; where you can share what brings you to therapy as well as what your expectations are so that we can explore how we may work together. If the fit feels right then we can agree to a set number of sessions or I can offer an open-ended timeframe, depending on what you would prefer.

I always leave it at least 24 hours after this initial assessment session before we each decide if we want to commit to work together. If the fit feels right we will then find a regular time slot that works for you.
