About me and my therapy practice
My approach to Therapy.
I have trained as an integrative psychotherapist completing the last year of my master’s degree in existential-phenomenological psychotherapy. In my approach to therapy, I look to explore the struggles that my clients are facing, the way they are creating and living their lives and their relationships, and how the personal choices they have made are currently affecting them. In this process, my clients make sense of their lived experiences, find meaning, and elucidate what aspects of their life they want to change.
I work primarily from an existential perspective however, I use cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), psychodynamic and person-centred approaches whenever I realise that they could be beneficial to my clients. In addition to this, I work relationally as I believe that understanding our relationship dynamics is crucial to make sense of how we relate to ourselves and others, and I place a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship as a vehicle which facilitates change, healing, and personal growth.
My therapy orientation is suitable for working with all aspects of human experience, from broader issues, such as lack of meaning in life and relationship difficulties, to more specific issues, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, obsessive behaviours, and addictions.
I understand psychotherapy as a transformational process that facilitates change and enables the possibility to come out of the place you have been temporarily stuck in. This process may be difficult at times but also a great opportunity for growth, relief and ultimately, healing.
Practice description
How I can help you.
I believe that the key element for a successful and meaningful therapy is a caring and trusting therapeutic relationship. I offer a confidential and non-judgmental space where you can feel safe to open up and share the issues that you are facing. My way of working is gentle but challenging which means that I will listen and respond with acceptance and compassion to support you to get a deeper understanding of your struggles and guide you to discover what aspects of your life you might want to bring about change and to facilitate your personal growth.
I am deeply dedicated to supporting you to achieve your therapeutic goals, gain self-awareness, coping strategies and to facilitate change that translate into daily life improvements.
