About me and my therapy practice
Imagine life where you are not:
- Gripped by anxiety, depression, fear or low self-esteem?
- Impacted by physical, sexual or emotional abuse?
- Concerned about your alcohol intake, drugs/substances; compulsive or addictive behaviours (sex, pornography, chemsex, gambling)
- Overwhelmed with other physical or mental health problems?
Overcoming these difficulties and improving your mental health is achievable, but you've found doing it on your own isn't getting what you want. That's why lot's of people start working with a male counsellor and psychotherapist like me. I'm Roger Harrison, a male counsellor and psychotherapist and for over ten year's, I've been providing effective face-to-face / in-person counselling, and psychotherapy for men in Manchester centre, Sale south Manchester and Cheshire (M33 5PA), and nationally online counselling, to help clients who are usually men to work through and live beyond the problems above. You surely deserve this too.
I offer a non-judgemental setting regardless of how people live their lives and express diversity, providing a safe, professional environment for therapy to take place.
Practice description
Counselling and psychotherapy with me, sometimes called talking therapy consists primarily of talking, listening, guiding, exploring, understanding, and above all else, providing a place where you will not be judged and I will treat you with compassion as the unique individual that you are. I use my years of experience and training to use different approaches that best meet a person's needs in relation to their reasons for starting work with a male counsellor. This can incorporate some body-work/somatic therapy, visualisations, mindfulness and action-focused techniques.
I am based in Manchester but work nationally too online. I qualified in 2010 from a London university and continued with further specialist training. I recommend people commit to six weekly sessions, often termed short-term or solution-focused counselling, and then discuss the next steps which often includes counselling over a longer period of time. Everybody is different and there is no right or wrong length of time for counselling and psychotherapy.

Practice description
Psychotherapy and counselling is delivered in a safe, effective and compassionate way to gently help you reflect, express, and explore current and/or past experiences, feelings and emotions and helping you develop a more constructive relationship within yourself to improve your wellbeing and life experience. Coaching is more focused on helping you to identify and then set objectives for the future.

In addition to talking, and reflection, I also incorporate techniques such as meditation, visualisation, writing activities, and body work as alternative approaches to help enhance your development and help you develop your own skills and techniques to use outside of each appointment.
