About me and my therapy practice
I’m an integrative therapist who’s dedicated to helping people through difficult times. My role is to help you understand the place you find yourself in and empower you to make the changes you want to see in your life.
I provide a warm and non-judgemental space for people in times of crisis and if they just need a quiet place to talk through what's bothering them. I regularly help clients deal with issues such as anxiety, addictions, eating disorders, grief, family problems, financial worries, relationship issues, women's issues, trauma and work problems.
In my other career as a journalist, I have met people from all walks of life and learned how to listen closely and with compassion to find out what the meaning might be behind the words someone is saying. This has proven an invaluable life skill that now enables me to help clients understand why they might be feeling upset or behaving in ways that trouble them.
Practice description
I work with adults of all ages, face to face, online or on the phone.
My therapy is client-led, which means that you take the reins of your sessions, bringing the issues you want to discuss, and I will guide and support you on your journey. We may also talk about your past relationships, because they can often provide clues about how you're functioning in the world now and help you to better understand yourself.
My job is to help you through fear and emotional discomfort to find a place where you feel safer and more contented. I will provide a warm therapeutic space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions freely. By sharing your feelings with me, you may find that problems that seemed intractable can be dealt with and their impact on you lessened.
My qualifications
I have Level 3 and Level 4 Professional Diploma (Dip Couns) in Integrative Counselling from The Mary Ward Centre in London.
I have a Certificate in Counselling Skills from The Westminster Pastoral Foundation.
I completed training with Cruse Bereavement Care and have significant experience of grief counselling. I have worked with victims of sexual abuse at a London charity.
