About me and my therapy practice
As a therapist, I currently work in the NHS and in private practice. I specialise in addiction, LGBTQIA+, male mental health and relationship issues. I believe that therapy should be tailored specially for your individual needs - whether anxiety, depression, self esteem or PTSD - and I provide a relaxed, safe space where you can feel free to share your issues confidentially and without judgement.
I like to work in a collaborative way, helping you learn more about yourself, your issues and developing strategies to manage them.
It can feel daunting sharing your problems, sometimes for the first time. The most important part of therapy is the relationship between us but it is important that you are in charge of the therapy and your recovery.
I offer short and long-term therapy and work integratively, which means I use more than one type of counselling. I also can work creatively if you feel this would be appropriate and can use creative techniques and mindfulness to ease anxiety or simply understand why you feel a certain way.
Neuroscience can also explain why we have panic attacks, why we don’t wish to talk to people, cant think straight or want to shut down and sleep all day. Using Polyvagal theory we can use techniques to explain your feelings and help ease them.
