Availability
I am available from 9am to 6 pm from Monday to Friday and Saturdays morning fro 9 am to 12pm.
Counsellor holiday periods will be communicated to the clients 2 weeks before starting.
I reasonably ask clients to set a same day and time for the counselling session. I am aware that there will be times that this might not be possible to be kept. In these occasions, please: let me know about any variation with one week notice.
About me and my therapy practice
My name is Laura Fontanet and I am an accredited NSCP and a MBACP Registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist in the UK.
My passion for becoming a counsellor started in 2018. I believe that each individual has their own potential to live a fulfilling life. I like to offer counselling to people from all walks of life. I feel a deep respect for my client and for those deciding to enrol in their therapeutic journey.
Life can feel at times bringing tough moments in which we can experience high distress when trying to find solutions and feeling at peace with ourselves.
I know from my own experience that reaching out for support might feel difficult and I really appreciate when clients start to share their insights to slowly deeper in sharing how they experience their inner self.
Whatever the reason for you to look for therapy; I would like to offer you a safe space for you to open up, be honest and to explore your thoughts, emotions and feelings without fear of judgment. I'd would like to help you to express your insights and to create a therapeutic relationship where you can share and work on the struggles you are facing; but also, to identify your strengths and helping you to maximise them to overcome your obstacles.

Practice description
I am a dedicated, compassionate and empathetic Counsellor. Counselling sessions provide an opportunity for the client to work through their own particular difficulties with the support of a counsellor in a way which is beneficial to them. I aim to provide a compassionate atmosphere of unconditional acceptance in order to help the client explore any difficulty they might be facing, find completeness and move forward.
I use the Person-Centred approach to counselling. If appropriate, the counselling sessions are tailored to the unique client’s needs introducing interventions from Gestalt Therapy, Existential Therapy, Trauma Focused Therapy, CBT, Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused approaches. Furthermore, I like to use my multicultural competence and passion for promoting well-being in diverse client populations. With a high level of empathy and personal insight I have special experience in helping clients suffering from depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse or those simply needing to make sense of their lives, to build resilience or develop greater self-esteem and emotional health.
I provide counselling sessions in English, Spanish, Catalan and/or Italian.

My first session
I offer a special rate for a first on line meeting is £35 for a 30 minutes encounter.
You might want to consider using the first session to:
• Get a feel for what counselling/therapy involves and how it may help you. Take time to ask any questions or raise any concerns you may have before making such a commitment.
• Take time to discuss the practicalities of therapy/counselling by looking at times, cancellations, fees, confidentiality and the general rules that both therapist and client must abide by.
• You will have time to talk about presenting issues/difficulties, explore your goals in relation to your therapy and discuss areas to be worked on in future sessions.
• Work with me to decide how many sessions feels appropriate for you.
