About me and my therapy practice

Welcome to my profile page. As a dedicated and compassionate Integrative therapist, I am committed to providing you with a safe and supportive place to start your journey of self-care, self-discovery and healing. Whatever may have bought you here, taking the time to talk and be heard is the first step towards making the changes you desire to enhance your sense of wellbeing. I will work in collaboration with you to unpick and make sense of what is troubling you, and to support you to achieve your goals.

Choosing a therapist can feel daunting, but finding the right person is essential to the success of your therapy. My priority is building a trusting relationship with you, bringing my genuine self with empathy and without judgement so you feel comfortable, safe and heard. This will serve as the foundation for our work together.

Because you are unique, I believe that there is no one right way to approach your therapy. I will be led by you and what you need, giving you the space you need to allow your thoughts and feelings to unfold. This may feel overwhelming at times, but I will support you compassionately to navigate whatever may arise. I work with humanity and feel privileged to provide counselling and support on your journey towards personal growth.

In addition to my work as a therapist, I have worked most of my life in Health and Social care, working with people who have a variety of complex physical, emotional and practical challenges. This has given me a deep understanding of the complexities of our modern day lives and an awareness of the impact that both external and internal difficulties can have on mental health and wellbeing. My experience has taught me the importance of kindness, compassion and accepting whatever crosses my path without judgement. I will bring these qualities into our work together.

Practice description

I am a British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) registered Integrative therapist, with a passion for helping people achieve holistic wellbeing. As your therapist you can expect me to work safely, competently and ethically, supported by the BACP Ethical Framework and guidelines for good practice. I am committed to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement.

We all experience life differently and as an integrative therapist I am able to draw on a variety of therapeutic tools and strategies such as psychodynamic therapy, relational therapy, humanistic therapy, transpersonal therapy, attachment theory and mindfulness techniques. I will tailor my approach to best serve your lived experiences, specific goals, personality and preferences. Together we will work collaboratively to create a safe and non-judgemental space for self-exploration and personal growth.

I work with a diverse range of clients from many different backgrounds. I have experience and enjoy working with a variety of presentations including anxiety, depression, bereavement, loss,  neurodiversity, relationship issues, sexual issues, attachment disorders, abuse, trauma, work related stress, chronic health conditions and disability.

I have personally experienced the positive impact of counselling and understand the importance of making it as accessible as possible for all that need it. Working online provides opportunities for those who may find it difficult to access on-site therapy as well as those whose busy lives make it more convenient. I am flexible, offering short term, fixed term or open-ended therapy depending on your preferences.

I currently work online using the Zoom platform. You will need a quiet confidential space where you feel safe to talk freely. Sessions are 50 minutes long and usually provided on a weekly basis.

My first session

I offer an initial 20-minute telephone or Zoom consultation free of charge. This gives you the opportunity to discuss what you are hoping for from therapy and ask any questions about the process. You are under no obligation to proceed at this point, and I welcome giving you the time to decide whether you feel we are the right fit.

If you decide to proceed, we will mutually agree a suitable time for your sessions. I would also ask that you complete a short online information and consent form at this point.
