About me and my therapy practice

Would you like to be your calm, content self more of the time? You may feel weighed down by anxiety, depression or a ‘busy brain’ that gives you no peace. You may want to explore specifics, such as abuse, trauma, autism or ADHD or you may not know where these feelings are coming from. I can work with you to recover more of your calm, content, confident self.

I am passionate in my belief that people have an amazing capacity for change and growth. I work by providing therapy that helps people flourish and strengthen their authentic self.

As an ‘integrative’ counsellor, I believe it’s important for the therapy to be shaped to your individual needs. Tailoring your counselling specifically for you means that I can adapt multiple approaches to help you meet your therapy goals. I find that many people benefit from an Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed approach, whatever your issues may be, so I would often start from this perspective.

As a neurodivergent counsellor, I work with all neurotypes but I find that autistic and/or ADHD clients benefit from having a counsellor who understands neurodivergence through lived experience. It comes naturally to me to accept and welcome difference in all its forms.

I regularly work with those impacted by abuse, such as sexual, emotional or physical abuse, including childhood trauma and I work within a trauma informed approach to ensure that we work at a pace that is safe for you.

I offer short and long term counselling sessions to adults of all ages within the UK. I work online or in person in my therapy room in Hartley Wintney, Hampshire.

Practice description

I am a fully qualified, insured counsellor and a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (MBACP). The BACP have strict requirements for membership and I adhere to their ethical framework and guidelines, so you can feel confident that I am a safe and ethical practitioner.

Some of the topics that I work with

• Anxiety

• Depression

• Low self esteem

• Social anxiety

• Confidence building

• Relationships

• Trauma – including PTSD

• Abuse – including sexual and emotional

• Neurodivergence – including Autism and ADHD

• Bereavement and grief

As a neurodivergent counsellor, I regularly work with people who are either diagnosed or suspect that they may be autistic and/or ADHD. Difference can lead to a lifetime of struggling to fit in, feeling like a defective neurotypical person rather than an ok neurodivergent person.

I often work with those impacted by abuse, such as sexual, emotional or physical abuse, including childhood trauma. Even a single incident of abuse can have a profound, lasting impact, including anxiety, depression and low self esteem.

I will provide you with a safe, confidential, non-judgemental and down to earth space to work on whatever issues you want to bring. We will talk about what you want to get out of counselling and keep reviewing this to ensure sessions remain helpful for you.

I offer short and long term counselling sessions to adults of all ages within the UK. I work online or in person in my therapy room in Hartley Wintney, Hampshire. I place no upper limit on the amount of sessions needed and this is a process we would review together whilst we work. There is also no minimum commitment and clients are free to leave when they would like. Many people like to have weekly sessions, at least to begin with. However, this might not work for you and I can also offer more flexibility with spacing of sessions to suit you.
