About me and my therapy practice
Counselling can help you make sense of what is happening to you, support you to reclaim your confidence and improve your relationships. It can give you space to explore your needs, make positive changes and rediscover joy after loss or disappointment.
Starting counselling can feel daunting and feel like a big investment in your time and money, so finding the right therapist for you is vital. If you are feeling unsure, you are welcome email me for more information or to arrange free no obligation call, or you can visit my website at www.rosiefreeman.co.uk
Practice description
Before training as a counsellor, I spent two decades working with the body as a shiatsu practitioner and teacher, seeking to support and understand the whole person, body, mind and environment, as well as considering the impact of stress on the nervous system and on physical and emotional well-being. I am interested in mindfulness mediation and exercises to help regulate the nervous system, and these practices can inform my work as a counsellor.
As a person-centred counsellor I work with whatever issues you bring, my aim is to help you discover your own resources so you feel better in yourself and more equipped to deal with life’s ups and downs, My role as a therapist is to hold an empathic and non-judgemental space where you feel safe and supported enough to meaningfully explore any life issues you may be grappling with, and find new ways of relating and being in the world.
Through previous roles I have supported those with long term chronic health problems including HIV and ME/CFS, disability, as well as mental health and emotional difficulties relating to life experiences such as childhood trauma and post-natal depression
I offer appointments face to face or online, or a combination of both. Most people choose to come weekly, at the same time each week, but this can be discussed depending on what works best for you.
I offer a no pressure, free 20-minute call where we can discuss what you are looking for from counselling and see if we might be a good fit. You can send me an email to set this up, or visit my website at www.rosiefreeman.co.uk
