About me and my therapy practice
In different moments of our lives, challenges and struggles may arise which can lead to emotional pain and loneliness. I believe it is important in these times to reach out and not suffer alone.
I am an integrative counsellor psychotherapist and I work in person and online. I trained at the Minster Centre and hold a Diploma in integrative counselling and MA in Integrative counselling and psychotherapy.
I work with multiple modes of therapy as I don’t believe that one form of therapy can understand and unravel your unique life experiences.
My educational background is in social and political sciences and for the last 20 years I have worked in the mental health sector, the NHS and wellbeing services within higher education.
I have worked as a student counsellor at London Metropolitan University and Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. I have also specialised in working with adult survivors of child sexual abuse and sexual violence for the charity One in Four.
I am currently working for NHS talking therapies in East London.
Practice description
I meet with clients on a weekly basis and offer short-term and long-term therapy.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and my work is governed by their ethical framework. I also attend regular supervision.
If you would like to work together, then please get in touch. We can arrange an initial consultation meeting which will give you the opportunity to see if we are the right fit and you feel ready to work together.
My practice is based in central London and is within walking distance from Chancery Lane, Holborn and Russell Square tube station along with central bus routes.
My first session
Committing to therapy will be enlightening, powerful and lifechanging. I will hold a warm and compassionate stance when working with you. I will pay close attention to your life story, feelings and beliefs and work collaboratively with you so that we can identify how best to support you.
When working together, I will draw not only from my clinical training but also from my other background experiences. My work history has meant that I have a lot of experience engaging with people from diverse backgrounds and identities. I am interested in how one’s social and cultural identity can impact one’s wellbeing. I also welcome clients to bring creative forms of expression through music, art, literature, religion and nature.
The commitment to therapy might feel very daunting but in the long term I believe therapy can provide a safe space for change, nourishment, healing and wholeness.
