About me and my therapy practice
(online) Welcome, Im a Relational therapist with many years of experience working within Women's Health, bereavement and addiction services. Whatever is bringing you to seek therapy, whether it be relationship or work issues, grief, trauma, long term health issues, Autism or ADHD, a general sense of overwhelm, burnout or anxiety I can help.
I am warm, friendly and non-judgemental and bring this to our relationship in sessions. We are equals in the room, you bringing your story and individual life experiences, and I in return offering an open, empathic relationship within which you are safe to begin to explore and untangle life events and beliefs that are/have caused you harm or emotional pain. All of you is welcome here...
I offer both long and short term therapy. You may want to bring a specific issue such as work place stress, relationship issues, a loss or anxiety around a particular life event. Maybe you are unsure of what you will bring but simply need space to discuss and unravel any anxiety, burnout or overwhelm.
We can work together to unpick what is happening and why.... leading to clarity which in turn brings about a sense of empowerment, confidence and greater control of a situation.
In longer term work you might find you are ready to begin exploring yourself deeper and looking at parts of self that have been hurt, shamed or suppressed, often these create feelings such as anger, jealousy, anxiety, low self esteem and fear....... they can show up by us being less present in relationships, causing issues in home and work life or leading to a general sense of dis-satisfaction.
Maybe less helpful coping strategies such as gambling or alcohol and substance abuse/addiction have arisen. By giving these hidden parts a voice, finding their origins and accepting them as a universal part of being human, it is my experience that we can find a greater sense of self-awareness and acceptance of our ‘whole self’.
Practice description
“The Curious Paradox is that when I accept myself as I am, then I can Change”
Carl Rogers
I am not an expert on your life so am not here to offer homework or solutions or insist you change your behaviour. I am here to listen. To hear your story and offer you gentle challenges and reflections. Often when we speak our words and stories out loud without fear of judgement or consequences we begin to not only untangle societal and family views from our own but begin to feel empathy and compassion for ourselves and our journeys.
You will begin to notice what YOU truly believe, what you want for yourself. And it is from this empowered position of understanding and accepting ourselves that we can change our lives for the better.
As a trauma informed therapist with experience in both the NHS and Charity Sectors I have had the privilege of supporting those who have experienced:
+ Deep and complex trauma and grief
+ Pregnancy and Parenting: (Post and Perinatal mental health), Post natal depression, birth trauma, parents of those with disability or ND
+ Infertility and childless by choice
+ Pregnancy and Baby Loss including Miscarriage, Recurrent Miscarriage, Ectopic, Molar, Termination for medical reasons,TFMR and Post Termination, Still birth
+ Domestic and Sexual Abuse (both recent and historic)
+ Alcohol and Substance abuse and other forms of addiction including gambling, pornography
+ Women's health : Peri-menopause, Menopause, Birth Trauma, Endometriosis, PCOS, Hysterectomy, Surrogacy etc...
+ Trans and Gender Diversity
+ Autism, ADHD, and other members of the ND community whether diagnosed, looking for a diagnosis or happy without
+Existential and spiritual questioning
+ Anxiety, Panic attacks and depression
+ Those facing homelessness and eviction
+ Workplace stress, Burnout and NHS shift workers
+ Students facing a wide range of struggles from moving away from home, exam and course work pressures, sexual health etc..
My first session
The first session is often a little clunky as we get to know each other. I understand that this session can be anxiety inducing for you and I often admit to being a little nervous myself.... a normal human reaction to meeting someone new!
We therefore keep this session rather on the surface, exploring what has brought you to therapy and how you have been looking after yourself so far. What has worked and what has not. As with all my sessions however tears and laughter are very welcome!
My passion was born out of my own therapy journey so I am more than aware of how daunting finding the right therapist can be therefore I offer a free non-obligation online or telephone 15 minute session. Sometimes just hearing someone's friendly voice can put us at ease that this person is safe and supportive.
During this session, we can explore what you hope to gain from therapy and how we would work together. I welcome your questions too. You can contact me directly via the BACP Website or via email at:

About me and my therapy practice
Hi, Im Gabi. I am warm and down to earth therapist with many years experience working within women’s health, trauma, bereavement and addiction services. I offer a supportive and honest relationship in which you can explore whatever is happening for you.
It may be that you are facing a bereavement or a break down in a relationship, PTSD , abuse or addiction or that you have ongoing struggles with aspects of your spiritual, work or home life that are causing you anxiety, overwhelm or depression. Maybe a recent realisation of or diagnosis of ADHD or Autism is ready to be explored…
Whatever it may be that is bringing you to counselling I believe that working with a non-judgemental therapist that you feel comfortable being honest with is the key. When we feel safe to explore our lives we can begin to untangle ourselves from the pressures, conditioning and expectations of society and family. It is here that we are able to find the authentic self that exists within.
Once this authentic self is accessed we are able to make choices that better align with our true values and what often emerges is a path forward that was previously unseen to us or felt out of reach. This new ‘awareness’ in turn brings about a sense of empowerment, confidence and greater control of our lives.
I feel so privileged to witness this process of gentle unfolding and shedding of layers from my clients and am often moved by the profound changes they make when accessing this deep empowering knowing that has always been within.

Practice description
I work both online and face-to-face from the therapy rooms at Yogasara on Picton Street.
I am an Integrative "Relational" therapist which in essence means I can draw on a range of therapeutic approaches that may work for you. This could be through pure talking therapy or bringing in some mindfulness or creative activities when and if they feel appropriate for you. My core belief however is that it really is the relationship between ourselves that is the key.
Being able to trust that the person opposite is non-judgemental and can be trusted with those inner most feelings of joy and happiness, shame and grief was what I was offered many years ago from my own therapists. This modelling of what a respectful and open relationship can feel like can help us recognise those relationships that don’t offer this and find ways to better navigate our place within them.
Alongside Counselling I am also a Specialist Nurse within Women's Health in the NHS and have a background in areas such as Endometriosis , PCOS, Hysterectomy, Peri-menopause, Menopause etc.. and a strong interest in Peri-natal mental health and post-natal depression, IVF and fertility, all stages of Pregnancy and baby loss (Miscarriage, recurrent miscarriage, ectopic, molar pregnancy , TFMR, abortion) to birth trauma and beyond.
Alongside counselling I am also undergoing ongoing training in Earth and Nature Based practices and natural cycle awareness. I have trained with Jane Hardwicke-Collins and other Core shamanic practitioners.
