About me and my therapy practice
My name is Joe Roberts and I'm a transpersonal counsellor working online and in person at London Bridge (SE1) and in Brockley (SE4).
There are many ways people end up seeking help, from addressing a particular event or behaviour to a more general sense that things are not right.
Offering an open, curious and confidential space, my approach is based on your particular challenges and needs. This is to help you articulate a deeper sense of self, revealing the choices that will bring this into being in the world.
My practice covers mental health (such as depression, shame and anxiety), sexuality and relationships, neurodiversity, addiction, loss, change and more. In the messy reality of life, these issues usually overlap. Please get in contact for a free 15-minute consultation.
Practice description
My work is done though weekly 50-minute sessions, either online or in person. Once we agree and commit to a time and day, this space is yours.
Counselling can help with whatever difficulty you come with. As a transpersonal therapist, I believe it goes further and points to new ways of being in the world. Working with whatever it is you need to bring, we'll free up your own inner guidance to discover how life can become deeper and more meaningful for you.
It's my belief that creativity and connectivity are at the core of the human experience. This makes them the heart of any therapeutic journey, starting with building an alliance between us.
My first session
A first meeting lays the foundations for any work going forwards. It involves agreeing some clear, simple ground rules, for example the regular time and day we both put aside to meet. This is called a Counselling Agreement and will be put into a document we'll both sign before continuing. I'm able to ask some questions about your background and where you're currently at, so I have a wider view of where we are starting, and you'll have the opportunity to meet me, see if it feels a good fit and ask any questions.
