About me and my therapy practice
I believe that everyone is unique and important. We all experience times when life is hard or confusing. You may be experiencing anxiety, depression or low mood. Perhaps you are having difficulty in your relationships. You may have gone through a past trauma or perhaps been diagnosed with a disability or illness and are worried about the future. Often it isn't possible to share difficult feelings with people in our lives and so therapy can provide a safe and supportive space, free of judgement, to express and work through uncomfortable thoughts or feelings. The idea of therapy can feel daunting but it can also be transformational.
I like to work with clients in a collaborative way, helping people to gain more insight and self awareness. This awareness can help alleviate anxiety and stress and lead to a greater sense of freedom and choice. We will talk about what you want to share and go at your own pace.
I firmly believe people are often far more resourceful than they think and so I will also spend time identifying your strengths and what is going well for you.
I endeavour to meet every client with warmth, respect and kindness. I am caring, insightful and have a good sense of humour too.
Background
I have a background in the arts and education, and have worked as an actor. I have worked in a variety of settings including: prisons, dementia care homes, schools, law firms, charities, business and corporate settings and local community groups.
