About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I am Rachael, welcome to Sana Te Psychotherapy. Did you experience childhood traumas that still affect your everyday life? Is overthinking and worrying causing you distress and anxiety? Struggling with suspected ADHD symptoms? You are not alone, and I would be privileged to support you on a journey to healing. My main areas of work involve these so If working with a therapist who can also work somatically and creatively to heal resonates with you, please do read on.
Counselling and somatic practices can provide a grounded and safe environment to enable a healing journey that can transform your life. I work with the whole person, body and mind and use creative ways of working with you towards healing alongside traditional talking therapy. I am passionate about supporting the whole person, mind and body.
Here's a little about me and my practice. I have worked for more than 25 years within university education, a local hospice and front-line services alongside my private practice. I have lived experience of childhood traumas and grief and understand how deeply they can affect you. These experiences have allowed me to deeply understand and connect with how the impact traumas, childhood wounds and painful emotional experiences have on your everyday life. I am passionate about how strong the healing process can be when the right relationship qualities, approach and care are offered to you.
Having worked with people experiencing a wide range of issues, such as childhood trauma, anxiety, ADHD, toxic relationships, grief and trauma, I have and continue to develop my practice and therapeutic services I offer to support you in whatever you are experiencing. I am passionate about supporting people who are in emotional distress.

Training, qualifications & experience
I work from the heart in a somatic, embodied and creative way. I am a qualified BACP person-centred counsellor, and this means I put you at the centre of our therapeutic relationship. I also bring elements of CBT for some anxiety issues and Psychodynamic work which supports learning about your childhood experiences and how they may impact on you now. I am a meditation teacher and use creative ways of working with the whole of you, mind and body. This may be breath work, grounding exercises, walk and talk sessions, sand tray therapy work and somatic movements.
I offer you a free initial 15 minute telephone consultation to provide an opportunity for you to tell me a little more about what has brought you to counselling, and for us both to see whether working together would be beneficial for you.
