About me and my therapy practice

Struggling with low mood, anxiety, trust and relationship issues? The root cause could be unresolved trauma. With 20 years of evidence-based care, I help people who have experienced trauma and abuse move past pain and into the life they want.

Practice description

Are you struggling to manage feelings of depression, anxiety, anger, addiction, or any behaviour you feel stuck in?. Do you find yourself in toxic or difficult relationships repeatedly? Or find work stress unmanageable?. Whatever your struggle, unresolved trauma could be behind these painful experiences. Therapy with me can help develop an understanding of the impact of your trauma experiences, and gain control and choice over how you want to live. You can book a free 20 minute consultation with me if you would like to learn more.

I am a fully qualified, BACP registered psychotherapist, specialising in the psychodynamic approach. I am passionate about the transformative power of therapy, and our capacity to heal.

I work from modern, comfortable rooms in Brighton , Hove and Hastings as well as offering online sessions via Zoom.

I have 20 years of experience working in therapeutic roles within the NHS, The Local Authority and Psychology Teams, working with those who experienced trauma, domestic abuse, narcissistic abuse, depression, anxiety, and neurodiversity.

I use the psychodynamic approach, an evidence based therapeutic style that can help with trauma by focusing on uncovering and understanding the deep-seated, often unconscious, emotional wounds and memories that contribute to distress. In essence, the psychodynamic approach helps you understand the root causes of your trauma, how it affects you today, and empowers you to heal and move forward. I also incorporate advice around movement, meditation, mindfulness and journaling to provide a really holistic service.

I understand that reaching out for help takes a huge amount of courage and is often something we feel ambivalent about, I offer a free of charge, no obligation 20-minute confidential chat if you would like to discuss the process or ask any questions.

If you decide to access therapy with me, we can go on to arrange weekly sessions at an agreed time.

My first session

My first job as a therapist is to do everything in my power to ensure you feel safe, relaxed and seen. Past client testimony has indicated that one of my strengths as a therapist is putting people at ease and creating a warm, relaxed environment so you can feel safe to share at your pace and feel quickly reassured that you won’t be judged or criticised.

An initial session is where I may ask questions about your life to fully understand what you want to get from therapy.
