About me and my therapy practice
Hello, let me introduce myself, I'm Lucy. I'm here to support you to explore yourself and find insight, healing and access to ways to cope or change. I can work with you in-person or through online video calls.
I have accredited, professional academic qualification and training and hold a BSc First Class Honours degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have worked both with adults and teenagers, for the therapeutic agencies Choose Therapy and London Young Counselling.
I have been practicing psychotherapy since 2019, previously working for almost a decade in the field of education with a focus on neurodivergence. As such I am keenly aware that, despite commonalities, we all perceive and process the world and our experiences in unique ways. As such I work as an Integrative Therapist, utilising Psychodynamic, Person-Centred, Cognitive-Behavioural and Existential training. I aim to support you with useful strategies for your present circumstances, alongside a reflective consideration of how the past may exerting its influence.
I draw upon a range of creative strategies to help explore what underlies your feelings or motivates your choices. People meet with me for various issues, including but not limited to, loss (relationship breakdown and bereavement), low self-esteem, anger management, career burnout, difficulties in relationships (attachment issues, parenting issues, abuse), infertility, pervasive low mood, OCD or anxiety. We can all find ourselves feeling unsettled, overwhelmed, stuck, anxious or depressed, with a sense of longing for finding relief or accessing change. Sometimes our behaviour can feel like a mystery to ourselves, we can feel frustrated with how we are experiencing our relationships with others or just be finding it hard to cope with a situation we've experienced or a way we are feeling. Perhaps you have felt this way for a while or you are suddenly facing transition in your life or an evaluation of your identity, purpose or relationships.
Practice description
I see clients in person at my therapy room at 4 Devonshire Street, London W1W. Here I have limited availability and may have a waiting list for certain times. My in-person sessions are charged at the rate of £80 a session. I offer a reduced rate for online video sessions of £60 per session (which reflects their incurring lower hosting costs). It is important to me that people who seek it have access to therapy, so please enquire about concession rates if you feel that you may be eligible.
Please contact me to discuss your unique needs and discuss what you are looking for in regard to working together in the short or longer term.
If I am unable to help you or meet your needs I may be able to refer you to a colleague who is equipped to.
My first session
I know it can feel a bit daunting to reach out to a therapist for the first time. Let me reassure you that I will meet you with concern for your well-being and non-judgement of your experiences, and that our work will move at a pace that you are comfortable with. I'm here to support you.
I appreciate that you may like the opportunity to speak together over the phone before booking a session. I am happy to have up to a 20 minute phone call with you to discuss your needs and consider how you feel about working together. You are also welcome to email me with any queries.
