About me and my therapy practice
Embarking on a journey of self-discovery and healing can feel like a daunting step, especially when faced with life's challenges.
As a humanistic counsellor, I offer a safe haven where you can explore your experiences and emotions without judgment. I prioritize creating a warm and empathetic space, where you can feel heard and understood.
Whether you're navigating trauma, relationship issues, or existential questions, drawing from my training in person-centred, gestalt, and transactional analysis therapies, I tailor our approach to suit your individual needs and preferences.
Extensive experience working in diverse cultural contexts allows me to offer a culturally sensitive perspective that honours your unique journey.
My practice is dedicated to supporting individuals across any diverse background, including neurodiversity. Having personal experience with neurodiversity within my own family, I bring a compassionate and informed approach to helping clients navigate similar challenges.
My commitment to humanistic counselling extends beyond these therapy rooms. I actively work with male ex-offenders, fostering therapeutic change and facilitating their reintegration into society. This dedication underscores my belief in the transformative power of humanistic psychotherapy, which Carl Rogers described as: "becoming the person that you have the possibility of becoming".
Ultimately, my goal is to provide you with a safe and nurturing space where you can explore your innermost thoughts and emotions, empowering you to overcome obstacles and embrace a more fulfilling life journey. If you're seeking a therapist who offers empathy, authenticity, and unwavering support, I am here to accompany you on your path to healing.
Visit my website to learn more about my approach and how I can support you. I look forward to the opportunity to walk alongside you on your journey of self-discovery and growth.
Practice description
Sessions last 50 minutes and are usually weekly.
Face-to-face sessions are held in private, purpose-built therapy rooms, which support the work.
Although working face-to-face is usually preferable, I do recognise that online working can sometimes be the only way for you to have access to therapy. I'm happy to offer it, provided you can find a quiet, confidential space. I also offer a blend of this and in-person therapy.
I do offer a concessionary rate, with a few weekly slots reserved as I believe equal accessibility to therapy is important which is based on an affordability check.
My first session
I offer a complimentary 20-minute telephone or video call as an introduction, where we can discuss your reasons for seeking counselling and answer any questions you may have. I will be interested in any previous counselling experience you may have, and we can discuss how I work and arrange our first session.
