About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified counsellor. As a member of the British Association of counselling and psychotherapy (MBACP) I follow their ethical framework, which puts the client, at the centre of the counselling work. The sessions are of fifty minutes duration and are held in a private, confidential space, either; face to face, by zoom or telephone.
I use a talking therapy known as ‘person-centred counselling’, focusing on creating a supportive and non-judgemental environment for my clients. Depending on your preferences and needs, I may also incorporate elements of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), which offers a more directive approach.
Practice description
As your counsellor I value you as an individual and I am dedicated to nurturing your journey with warmth, empathy, and respect. I will provide a safe space for you to explore your concerns, gain insight into your thoughts and feelings, and move towards a better understanding of yourself.My first session
I offer a free initial phone call to help you decide, if what I can offer, fits with how you want to work. If you wish to proceed, during the first session, we will look at agreeing how we will work together looking at boundaries around areas, such as, confidentiality and data collection, so we both feel comfortable, helping to build trust within the therapeutic relationship. We will go on to explore what brought you to therapy and consider your goals for the future and how we can work towards these.What I can help with
