About me and my therapy practice
As an existential psychotherapist specialising in trauma, my practice is dedicated to helping individuals confront and process the profound impact of life’s most challenging experiences. I support clients as they navigate the complex, often painful journey of understanding trauma’s effects on their sense of self, relationships, and worldview. With an existential approach, I encourage clients to explore the unique meanings they attribute to their experiences, fostering resilience and a deeper sense of personal agency in the face of life’s adversities.
In sessions, I provide a safe, compassionate space where clients feel empowered to address their trauma openly and without judgment. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, I work with clients to understand how trauma has shaped their beliefs, values, and perspectives. Together, we explore existential themes such as meaning, isolation, and freedom, helping clients reclaim a sense of autonomy and purpose that trauma may have obscured.
Existential therapy views each individual as a whole, complex person, not merely a collection of symptoms. My work with trauma involves a process of self-discovery, where clients can examine their lived experiences and reconnect with parts of themselves that may have felt fragmented or lost. By acknowledging their pain while also exploring their potential for growth, clients can foster a renewed sense of identity and resilience, leading to a more fulfilling and authentic life.
For those struggling with trauma-related challenges—such as anxiety, depression, or relational difficulties—I strive to support them in rediscovering their own strengths and capacities. Through this therapeutic journey, clients can build a foundation for healing that embraces both the realities of trauma and the possibilities of hope, growth, and renewed purpose.
Practice description
I work as part of a group of therapists at the North End Road Psychotherapy practise. We are directly opposite Golders Green Station (Northern Line).
There are a number of comfortable rooms, one of which will be assigned to us and will be used on an ongoing basis.
There are stairs to access the practise so if climbing stairs is an issue, you may wish to consider online work with me.
While most of my client work is conducted face-to-face at the practise, I also see clients online (Zoom, Skype etc.).
My first session
In our first session we will be looking at your reasons for coming to therapy and what you are hoping to gain. We will also look at the sort of time frame you have in mind, short and focused or longer term and comprehensive. I will encourage you to ask any questions you may have about the process of therapy.
I will in turn be asking specific questions about your background in order to build a better picture of your context. Far more than I would in a regular session.
We will also discuss our working 'contract' that will cover such things as cost, frequency and our policy for missed or cancelled sessions. As above, I encourage you to ask any questions you have.
In our second session I will give you a written version of our agreement for your reference.
You are not asked to sign anything.
The decision to continue with therapy is always yours.
