About me and my therapy practice
I believe that we all have times when we need extra help. Working together, we can explore where you are and where you want to get to.
I am a compassionate and inclusive therapist, qualified in an innovative approach that combines integrative counselling and psychotherapy with coaching.
The quality of our relationship is really important. I aim to create the conditions for us to have an emotionally safe and deeply exploratory journey together. I actively guide you in this journey - I don't just sit back and listen. And if we feel it is not the right fit between us, I will support you to find another therapist.
What we cover is up to you. There might be a specific issue, crisis or trauma, a general sense of feeling ‘stuck’, or a need for new insights and change. I work with adults of all ages, experiencing a range of challenges from anxiety, depression and low self-esteem, to relationship and family difficulties. I have a special interest in supporting clients to understand the impact of childhood on your life today.
I have seen that, when we are able to explore and express ourselves, we can experience greater emotional clarity and stability. From this more stable place, we have the possibility of accepting or changing aspects of our life that we are struggling with. This exploration takes guts and honesty, and is worth the effort.
Practice description
My foundation is in person-centred counselling and I draw on aspects of other therapies including Transactional Analysis, Gestalt, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Internal Family Systems. My practice is also influenced by existential and psychodynamic theory. If appropriate, we can bring coaching into our work to explore how you would like your future to look, and map out a route forward.
I trained at The Minster Centre and the University of East London (PGDip Integrative Counselling and Coaching, distinction).
My experience includes working with undergraduates as a Counsellor at Ravensbourne University.
I have bachelor's (hons) and master's degrees in other fields.
