About me and my therapy practice
Welcome! I am a U.S. based psychotherapist and Registered member MBACP (Accred) of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I offer a person-centered, compassionate, and systemic approach to therapy. I consider working with each client to be a privilege and a collaborative therapeutic experience.
Before transitioning to my full-time private practice, I worked for the U.S. government for 14 years. This included active duty military service with the U.S. Army, civil service with the U.S. Marine Forces Special Operations Command (MARSOC) and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs where I served as the director of two different community based mental health clinics for veterans and their families.
I am also psychosexual therapist and a Registered Member of the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT). I offer a sex addition treatment group for male identified clients using the Out of Control Sexual Behavior (OCSB) pathway model. OCSB is defined as “a sexual problem of consensual sexual urges, thoughts, or behaviors that feel out of control for the individual.”
I am also a Certified Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapist as well as an Approved Clinical Consultant. I provide group consultation for therapists seeking IFS Certification.
Practice description
I offer a free 15 minute consultation to understand how I might be able to help you and for you to ask any questions that may be helpful to determine if I would be a good fit for you.
Once we agree to a time and a day for us to meet, I will send you an intake form and a contract for you to complete before the first paid session begins.
All sessions are online and 50 minutes for individual/couples and 90 minutes for group psychoatherapy.
Some of my key areas of expertise and clinical/research interests are: sexuality/sexual health concerns, substance abuse addiction and recovery, relationship issues, individuals and couples who identify as LGBTQIA+/GSRD*, masculinity, military mental health and multiculturalism.
My first session
During this session, I will gain more insight into and an understanding of the reasons you are now seeking therapy. This is an important first step to establish our therapeutic relationship.
