About me and my therapy practice
I am a psychodynamically trained counsellor and therapist working with adults. I offer short and long term work.
Whether you are seeking therapy for a particular reason, such as depression, bereavement or relationship difficulties, or want to explore your life and what you want it to be, I offer a non-judgmental and secure space. Working with your life history, current circumstances, dreams and fantasies, we can explore and work through whatever you bring into the room.
Psychodynamic therapy is based on the principle that we are shaped and influenced by our early life history but that these patterns can be changed. Therapy enables us to look at and be curious about these blueprints, many of which operate on an unconscious level. Often the strategies that kept us safe as a child can outlive their usefulness and become barriers to how we want to be in the world. The therapeutic relationship is the means by which our history and ways of being with others can be explored and transformed. Working with dreams and creativity can also be a powerful way to understand what is going on beneath the surface and to bring these aspects of ourselves into awareness.
Practice description
I work with adults of all ages and offer short and long term counselling and therapy in person and online, usually once a week.
