Therapist - Bournemouth

Bournemouth BH6
Sessions from £50.00

Features

  • Flexible hours available
  • Concessionary rates

Availability

I offer 50-minute online Zoom sessions for UK-based and international clients, Monday to Friday. I have limited evening availability left, but I have more daytime and lunch break slots open.

About me and my therapy practice

Can’t see the wood for the trees? Or do you see the wood and don’t like the look of it? I provide a pause from day-to-day life, allowing you to freely explore what’s on your mind to make sense of your experiences and create change to feel better. Whether you have a specific reason for starting therapy or you just know that you want to feel better, therapy can be a useful space to understand what is going on and how to manage it.

Practice description

I use a range of techniques and approaches to provide the type of therapy you need at each stage of your therapeutic process. It’s a cliché but true- one size doesn’t fit all when it comes to therapy. Whether you want to explore, learn tools, or have a good vent, my training allows me to offer the space you need. With this in mind, I welcome regular check-ins during the therapeutic process to ensure our work together suits you at each stage.

Experience and training

  • First class BSc (Hons) Counselling
  • NHS Talking Therapies
  • Place2Be Children's Counselling
  • Additional CPD

My first session

Before deciding on a first session, I offer a free 20-minute introductory Zoom call where we can discuss what you are looking for from therapy. This call gives you the opportunity to decide if I am the right fit for you as your therapist. This is vital, as being comfortable with your therapist is based more on how you feel when talking to them rather than what’s on paper.

If you choose to have therapy with me, then our first session may involve discussing what brought you to therapy and laying a foundation for future sessions, or we can dive straight into a specific topic you want to work on immediately. If you would like to set goals, we can do this in our first session, but if that isn’t your cup of tea, we can instead identify topics to explore in our sessions. Although I use a range of therapeutic approaches, I follow your lead on where you would like to take each session. If this feels a little daunting, I can help you find your footing with deciding where you would like to start.

After the first session, your therapy can develop into what you want it to be. It may evolve with different stages of development, but it will always remain a safe, non-judgemental space just for you.

Knowing when you are ready to end therapy can be difficult and looks different for everyone. However, a common sign is that you start to naturally regulate your emotions and handle the ups and downs of life with more ease and calm, knowing you have the tools to manage each situation.
