About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I'm Tessi (they/them). I offer a calm, non-judgemental and reflective space where you can speak openly about your experiences and any challenges you might be facing, knowing they will be held in confidence.

I have experience working with a range of challenges including; depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, social anxiety, abuse, childhood trauma, relationship problems, grief and bereavement, oppression/marginalization and navigating life transitions such as starting university, changing careers or ending relationships.

I work affirmatively with people from across the GSRD (Gender, sex and relationship diversity spectrum) and I currently volunteer as a therapist for an LGBTQIA+ charity in East London. I have also worked in a diverse clinical setting based in East Croydon.

Our sessions will be a reliable and consistent space for you to come to each week where I will be intently focused on following and understanding your experience. Outside of our sessions I will reflect, apply clinical theory and ensure you receive thorough and well-informed care around what you choose to bring to therapy.

Practice description

My approach is integrative and I draw upon psychodynamic, existential and person-centred theory. I work through an intersectional lens, recognizing the impact of systemic oppression and holding space for the various overlapping parts of your identity including your inner thoughts and feelings, family structures and the wider social and cultural world around you.

At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship, where I will engage with you in a real, dynamic and genuine manner. Together we will take a look at your experience from different angles, working to shift old patterns and create more space and choice in how you live-in-the-world, finding what feels meaningful and enriching for you.

My first session

I offer a free, non-obligatory 20 minute online call via zoom for you to tell me a bit about what brings you to therapy, what you might be looking for and ask any questions you might have.

Accessibility to therapy is important, I offer a limited number of reduced cost spaces for students or those on low-income/unemployed. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch and we can discuss what an affordable price looks like for you.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified therapist offering short and long term therapy online via zoom and in-person based in East London.

I offer a supportive, non-judgemental and reflective space where you can speak openly about your experiences and any challenges you might be facing, knowing they will be held in confidence.

I have experience working with a range of challenges including; depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, social anxiety, abuse, childhood trauma, relationship problems, grief and bereavement, oppression/marginalization and navigating life transitions such as starting university, changing careers or ending relationships.

I work affirmatively with people from across the GSRD (Gender, sex and relationship diversity spectrum). Alongside my private practice, I am currently working as a therapist for a wellbeing platform, offering short-term therapy for those struggling with depression, anxiety and work related stress.

In the past, I have volunteered as a therapist for an LGBTQIA+ charity and I have worked in a diverse community therapy setting.

Practice description

In my work, I often draw on psychodynamic ways of working which involve paying attention to early experiences, making space to process difficult feelings and traumas, drawing connections between your past and present and identifying patterns in your life that might be keeping you stuck.

We may come to notice unconscious processes operating outside of your awareness including hidden feelings and pressures, enabling you to widen your understanding of yourself and your relationships, opening up a sense of freedom and choice in how you move through the world and relate to others.
