About me and my therapy practice
People come to therapy for different reasons and with different hopes for how it can help them. Whatever you’re experiencing, I can offer you a space to come as you are, to feel heard and accepted, and together we can explore what’s going on for you with curiosity and compassion.
As a relational counsellor I place high value on the relationship between us, bringing perspective, creativity, warmth and challenge. Working collaboratively with you at your pace, I will aim to empower you in your choices and knowledge of yourself, and we’ll consider the unique cultural experiences that shape who you are. Openness and honesty are important to me when I work, and I will take steps to ensure you feel as emotionally safe as possible in our sessions.
Trauma-informed practice is an area of specialism for me, having worked for many years with survivors of sexual abuse and childhood trauma in specialist services. I am also particularly experienced in working with clients struggling with self worth, attachment, relationships, anxiety, depression and identity issues. Whatever your current challenges, I am happy to discuss them with you to see if we might be a good fit.
I am attuned to the way wider societal structures and issues impact us and I offer therapy that is social justice oriented, LGBTQIA+ affirming and anti-oppressive.
Practice description
Integrating a range of approaches, I can respond flexibly to what would suit you. Fundamentally we will work to increase your awareness of the thoughts and feelings that you find hard to make sense of. We can do this in a variety of ways, depending on what you are looking for from our time together. We may use talking therapy, body work, mindfulness or creativity.
Currently my face-to-face work takes place in a building with some steps to access so is sadly not wheelchair accessible.

I offer a free 20 minute phone call to discuss what brings you to therapy, what you'd like to get out of it, and see if we may be a good fit for each other.
