About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I'm Naomi (she/her). I know it can be quite overwhelming finding support sometimes, so thank you for being here.
I am an experienced integrative, relational counsellor. Whatever the reason that has brought you to counselling, my aim is to help you feel seen, heard, valued and respected. We can work collaboratively to create a space in which you can openly and honestly explore all aspects of your life. I am not here to judge you or place any expectation upon you.
I have a lot of experience working in domestic and sexual abuse, supporting clients through the aftermath of both historic and recent abuse. Working as a trauma informed counsellor means that I prioritise safety, empowerment, and collaboration with clients who have experienced trauma.
Throughout my practice, intersectional and feminist values are very important and I am dedicated to working inclusively, by ensuring I am always educating myself and remaining open minded. I also am always keen to learn from my mistakes and always welcome and encourage feedback, where you may want to give it.
The foundation of my practice is person-centred, which means I am led by your needs during our sessions, in a non-judgemental, empathetic way and I am meeting you as you are. Additionally, being integrative means that I may pull from different modalities where appropriate.
These include psychodynamic (working with past experiences to understand the present) and Gestalt (creative approach to explore the present). I also have experience working more creatively, especially in terms of finding other ways in which you may want to express yourself during sessions.
One of my favourite things about counselling is collaborating and working together to form an environment which works best for you, at your own pace.
