About me and my therapy practice
I am a British born Multi-Disciplinary Therapist who works with children, adolescents, young adults (aged 5 to 25 years) and their families.
I’ve been part of the mental health community for over 20 years in the UK, as well as being lucky enough to also work overseas in Singapore and Austria during this time too. I have a background in education, social services and mental health services in the UK, including CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service), and established mental health services designed to support children and families in the care system.
With an interest in anxiety and trauma, I have developed a range of skills in mental health, education and social work to provide holistic support, working collaboratively with you, to empower positive change through self-compassion, awareness and understanding to improve mental, emotional and social wellbeing.
My training in the solution focused model also extends to supervision and consultation, allowing me to provide support and tools to schools and organisations to improve the wellbeing of their team. I have also completed training in crisis management including PREpARE School Crisis Intervention model and I am a trained NOVA Crisis Responder.
I have been fortunate to be able to experience the blessings and drawbacks of expat life having worked in International Schools in Singapore and Austria, as well as private practice, and I am no stranger to the high and lows that this lifestyle can generate. Expat life is tough and I have supported many families through these periods of transition and stress.
Here are some of the modalities I have been trained to use in our work together:
Play Therapy, Systemic Family Approaches, Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Children’s Accelerated Trauma Treatment (CATT), Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)
I am also a fully qualified Supervisor.
