About me and my therapy practice
Therapy is individual, not off the peg…
I have lived experience of Autism and ADHD. That is not all I am, nor all I work with, but it is important for me to be open even before we meet.
Counselling allows us to shift our thinking and find our way through challenging times with support along our route. Whilst I am trained in the Person-Centred Approach, I work flexibly with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and bespoke exercises, to suit individuals’ needs. I have a particular interest in finding individual strategies for clients to better manage the ups and downs in life. We all work much better together than we do alone; we are social creatures by nature.
Practice description
Qualifications:
Qualified Psycho-therapeutic Counsellor, registered member of the BACP (MBACP).
Each one of us is different; there is no single one-size-fits-all answer for any of us. My specialism is neurodivergence, but I enjoy a varied client list - please do ask about your specific issues.
I am happy to arrange a time to discuss the best approach for you to gain a healthier perspective and inner strength to live your life less stressfully.
My first session
Our first full session will be one where we work through what you are looking for and how therapeutic work may help you. We will set up safe boundaries around our work together, to allow you to feel truly heard in what you want to share.
We will look at different ways of working which will give you an insight into how the therapeutic relationship will be able to support you. This initial session will look at your preferences and how we can support you best. I will guide you to review how you are feeling every six weeks, so that we can notice changes and then we can go on together to consider our ways of working and how to develop the work further.
