About me and my therapy practice
Hello. My name is Ellie and I am a qualified Integrative Psychotherapist in London, offering sessions online and in person.
There are a number of reasons why someone might seek therapy. Right now, you might be in a challenging place in life. Or, you might want or need some sort of change. Perhaps you've been through experiences that have left a legacy, or you're keen to understand and address behavioural patterns or relational dynamics. Wherever you are right now, it's welcome.
My approach is relational and integrative. This means that I am interested in developing a therapeutic relationship with clients and leaning into a selection of approaches that offer meaningful and tangible support, tailored to each person.
My approach is rooted in the humanistic strand of therapy. From this foundation, I draw upon several approaches, including psychodynamic theory and compassion-focused therapy.
Jargon aside, I offer myself as a non-judgemental, compassionate and kind witness to your experience. I believe that we all deserve to be seen, heard and understood - and it’s from within that experience that we find a path through challenge.
Practice description
Psychotherapy is an opportunity to understand yourself and others, overcome challenges, and find meaning in an increasingly conflicted world. It is a paced, explorative process that invites you to take the scenic route through life.
Psychotherapy offers different things to different people. For some, it is a space to process, understand and overcome specific and immediate challenges. For others, it is a regular opportunity for reflection as we move through life. In this way, therapy is an anchor in the week.
In essence, psychotherapy is a deeply personal experience, defined by you - the client - and your individual interests and needs at any given time.
In weekly sessions together, you will lead and I will be guided by you. I may ask questions, notice patterns or themes, offer interpretations or reframes, and at times, provide gentle challenges with the intention to be wholly supportive.
Together, we might look at past experiences and relationships, and try to connect the dots between what’s happened in the past and what’s happening in the present. Most importantly, however, is what feels meaningful to you. Therapy is your experience.
My first session
Our first session is an opportunity to get to know one another. Unlike other sessions, this session will likely include more direct questions from me, as I endeavour to get a sense of what you're experiencing and your goals for therapy.
This introductory session is charged at £50 for the therapeutic hour (50 minutes).
