About me and my therapy practice
The first consultation is free of charge as for therapy to work clients must feel they can trust and relate to what is being offered.
I am a person centred counsellor with thirty years experience in CBT and I work inside, in a comfortable and welcoming room.
There is also the option to walk and talk in a private woodland.
Clients can choose either location.
When appropriate, I may draw on my thirty years of cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and solution focused counselling ,as I successfully specialised in these fields, prior to my more recent qualifications, in person- centred counselling and woodland therapy.
The combination allows me to choose the best approach to help clients find solution and peace of mind.
Each face to face session will last 1 hour and clients will be informed when there are 10 minutes remaining .
Clients can choose the number of sessions though at least 6 is an accepted amount for most.
Practice description
Clients can expect a warm greeting and a non- judgemental, caring and confidential atmosphere.
The sessions are generally client led, drawing on the humanistic belief that people ultimately know the solutions to their unease but need patience, clarity and confidence to act on them.
If you would like to be heard and understood, whatever the problem, by someone who cares and has your best interests at heart, this therapy will be of benefit to you
There is ample free parking and the location is not overlooked, so clients can be assured of discretion at all times.
My first session
After making contact through email: treesensetherapy@gmail.com or, by a telephone call ,(landline: 01759 373090), we can arrange an initial free consultation.
At this session, I can take your details, brief history and outline the reasons for seeking counselling.
We can discuss whether counselling is to take place indoors, or in the woodland, or a combination of both.
I will explain that my approach is to promote mental and physical wellness alongside therapy. I will briefly explain the various approaches on offer (CBT and person centred counselling and woodland walks) and how they may benefit you.
If you feel we can work together for you, only then will we book in further sessions.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you find peace of mind.
