About me and my therapy practice
I believe that supervision needs to take place in a safe and supportive environment where all parties can explore the counselling/psychotherapy process between the counsellor/psychotherapist and the client in an open and honest way.
The aim is to assess the needs of the client and explore ways of working that would be of most benefit to them. It is a place where the supervisee can develop themselves as a therapist and get support.
It is designed to ensure professional standards are being met and that the supervisee is working within the Ethical Guidelines for Good Practise in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I endeavour to create an environment of openness, honesty, support and respect, where power is shared.
I will always attempt to work from an I’m Ok, You’re Ok place and challenge from this place.
It is the therapist's responsibility to ensure they book in for and receive the required amount of supervision to meet the needs of their course (if in training), or organisation and the requirements of BACP/UKCP/NCS and/or their Diploma /BSc./MSc. Course.
