About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified Person Centred Counsellor and am currently completing a qualification in CBT.
I have worked at a Women’s charity for several years, providing counselling and supporting women’s mental health.
I aim to offer you a safe, confidential space to explore any difficulties that may be on your mind. Maybe you are experiencing a crisis, a major change in your life circumstances, or feel anxious, depressed or stuck. Perhaps childhood issues are impacting on your life now, or you are struggling with relationships, divorce or separation, trauma, abuse or bereavement.
Counselling can provide a time for you to unravel any thoughts, feelings, behaviours, or difficult circumstances you're facing. Together, we'll work to develop a deeper understanding of yourself and others. We'll also explore your own solutions—whether that involves making meaningful changes in your life or finding ways to cope with challenges that cannot be easily resolved. My goal is to carefully guide you while empowering you with a sense of agency to move forward.
I place great importance on the therapeutic relationship, and while we work through issues together, I will offer you a sanctuary—a warm, non-judgmental space where you can explore what is troubling you. Drawing from my own life challenges has given me the compassion, connection, and insight to support individuals from diverse backgrounds. I understand how valuable it is to be heard, seen, and supported. I am an empathetic listener and an intuitive thinker, and I will always keep you at the heart of our work together.
I am open-minded and non-judgemental and willing to discuss whatever may be troubling you.
I have a special interest in anxiety, self-esteem issues, ADHD and menopause issues.
Practice description
In therapy, I primarily work as a Person-Centred counsellor, meaning that the foundation of our work together is built on empathy, deep understanding, and acceptance. My goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel seen, heard, and understood. This approach allows you to explore your feelings and experiences openly, with you guiding the process as the expert on your own life.
I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and solution-focused techniques to provide practical tools for addressing specific issues like anxiety, low self-esteem, OCD, and depression. These methods help to break unhelpful patterns and promote positive change in areas where you may feel overwhelmed or stuck in patterns of behaviour.
My first session
I offer a free, no obligation 30 minute session, where we can begin to unpack what has brought you to therapy.
This session gives us a chance to decide if we can work together. Moving forward, we meet once a week and the sessions last 50 minutes.
I have a private counselling space which is easily accessible.
If you are looking for CBT exclusively, I am currently offering it at a discounted rate. Please contact me for further information.
