About me and my therapy practice
Often, experiencing low self esteem, anxiety or depression brings feelings of worthlessness, vulnerability and despair. These feelings can impact negatively on day to day life. My practice includes ways to help you explore your feelings, thoughts and behaviours, giving you a better understanding of the roots of your emotions, how to recognise the impact they have and manage them effectively.
I have a positive and compassionate approach, focusing on your strengths and your ability to achieve your goals. We will always work together at a pace that feels safe for you, without rushing.
I offer sessions in person in Canterbury or via Zoom, giving you the choice of what works best for you.
Practice description
I am an integrative counsellor, which means that I am qualified to use varied counselling methods and practices. I offer regular reviews to all clients which gives us the opportunity to discuss how they feel their counselling is going and if there is anything else that they would like to include in their sessions. I always welcome my client's feedback to ensure our work together is as effective as possible. As my client, you can expect to be able to speak freely, without judgement, in a trusting and accepting environment. I see everybody as a unique individual with their own view of the world and as we work together, I will gain understanding of how you experience life, and help you by using the counselling methods and practices best suited to help you reach your personal goals. Clients often notice positive changes gradually over the first 4-6 weeks, with lasting improvements thereafter.
Searching for a counsellor can be a daunting process and with this in mind I offer a free 20 minute introductory call, via telephone or Zoom, so you can learn more about me and my practice and I can learn about your reasons for seeking counselling. I welcome any questions during the call, helping you make an informed choice about us moving forward. Please contact me to book a call or to ask any questions you have.
My first session
When I have a new client, the first session is usually focused on the reason that they have got in contact with me, how their life is being affected and what they would like to achieve through counselling. This helps us to agree on a way forward that they feel comfortable with, giving them a sense of how our work together may look moving forward.
