About me and my therapy practice
Hello my name is Julie and I am a registered member of the BACP. I offer counselling to adults and children in person and online.
I have been welcoming clients to my private practice since 2023. Prior to my counselling work I worked in education with teaching staff, children and families for 25 years.
Life can be challenging at times and counselling can help you make sense of your thoughts, feelings and experiences. I offer a warm and safe space where you can explore what is troubling/challenging you in your own time. I work with compassion and understanding adhering to the BACP ethical framework.
Counselling isn’t only for when you are experiencing difficulties it can be a journey of discovery and growth for yourself; a time to have some space for you.
Sessions are booked on a weekly basis and are for 50 mins.
Practice description
I am a psychodynamic counsellor which allows exploration of your current thoughts, feelings and behaviours and how they may relate unconsciously to past experiences.
I offer online sessions via a range of platforms including Microsoft Teams and FaceTime. Online may be preferred if travel and time constraints are a consideration. I also offer in person sessions from rooms in central Tewkesbury. There is free parking and the rooms are accessible to all.
If you should reach out to either begin, or continue, your counselling journey we will arrange a free 5 minute conversation to briefly make the arrangements for our first meeting.
My first session
The first session is an opportunity for us to begin to get to know each other and get a feel for how the counselling process may work for you. We can think about what is right for you, it may be that you feel a shorter number of sessions are needed or a more open ended approach suits best.
The first session is charged at the usual fee of £50.
