November 2023: I currently have online availability on Mondays and Tuesdays, mornings and afternoons (up to 5pm).About me and my therapy practice
As a fully qualified psychotherapist, I offer a warm, empathetic and non-judgmental space for you to explore your internal world and experiences.
I am an integrative practitioner, and draw on several counselling approaches to inform my work with clients. I use attachment theory to better understand how patterns that are formed in early years can impact our relationships and experiences today. Further, humanistic modalities of Transactional Analysis and Gestalt theory bring a creative dynamic to my work. This means we can use metaphor and creative techniques to gain insight and process difficult feelings and experiences.
Building a trusting therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my work and my hope is that together, we can create a supportive environment in which you feel safe enough to explore your experiences, thoughts and feelings that may be causing you suffering in your day to day life. My hope for counselling is that you move from a place of suffering to self compassion.

Practice description
My counselling approach is relational and I like to work creatively. I see therapy as a non-judgemental space for you to make sense of your internal world and experiences. Whether you have had counselling before or you're new to it, I understand that it may seem daunting. I am here to support you as we navigate this together.
My role as a therapist is to offer warmth and honesty so that together we can better understand any patterns and beliefs that may be affecting your daily life. My role is not to offer you advice, as I believe that it's through working together that allows us to find solutions to the difficulties you might bring to counselling.
Therapy might bring up difficult content at times. I fundamentally believe that in a world which can be overwhelming and challenging, giving yourself space to make sense of this is one of the greatest things you can do for yourself.
My first session
The aim of the first session is for us to get to know one another and see whether we are the right fit to work together. I focus on building an understanding of your life and what has brought you to therapy. This means that I ask more questions and also take some notes to inform my practice.
Importantly, this is an opportunity for you to get a feel for how I work and see if you want to work with me and for me to assess whether I'm the best counsellor for you. This first session is informal, and I hope feels welcoming.
While I do charge for a first session, I do offer a free 15 minute phone consultation beforehand for you to ask any questions you might have for me ahead of the first session.
