About me and my therapy practice
Welcome to my page.
I can support you through difficulties with family, friendship or work as well as other life problems. You may be struggling to verbalise your needs, or perhaps feeling lonely or dissatisfied with life. This may have led to experiences of anxiety and depression which may be impacting your daily life. Perhaps life doesn't feel quite right or you're struggling with low self worth and feeling a little lost.
Counselling can enable clients to open up and share their feelings and emotions in a non judgemental space. This could be the first time you have taken that step to release those thoughts and feelings that you have been carrying. As you begin to trust the relationship, difficult emotions and life problems that are blocking a chance of living a full life, can be explored and unpicked leading to improved wellbeing and a stronger sense of self.
Sessions are short or long term depending on what the presenting issues are, but we can check in to see how things are feeling. It's important that it's a kind and understanding relationship in the counselling room.
As an integrative trained counsellor I work using a range of approaches which match the problems of the client. This could include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to manage unhelpful thoughts or a psychodynamic approach to unpick difficulties formed from childhood. The core to my practice is working from a person-centred approach which means the client is at the centre of the work. This can enable clients to create change and reach their potential.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). This is an ethical organisation which ensures I am practicing safely with my clients.
If you feel that counselling may be something that could help, please email me and we can discuss what you would like to work on.
Then, if it feels right, we can begin our work together.
Practice description
My room for face to face sessions is in Worcester city centre, near to Foregate Street station for clients coming into the city.
It is warm, comfortable and private providing a safe space to open up and explore your presenting problems.
There is a waiting area in reception where I will come to collect clients for their appointment. There is also a lift if needed.
My first session
Before our first session I will send you a form to collect information that makes up a client profile. This is kept securely and separate from any session notes. I will also send you a contract to read through and sign explaining how we will work together.
The first session will run at your pace; a chance to get a sense of whether we are a good fit and if we can form a good therapeutic relationship.
