About me and my therapy practice
I am a Relate trained counsellor and have an MA in Relationship Therapy. I have been practising since 2007. Relationship therapy allows you to work through problems in your current relationship, look at how past relationships may be affecting your current one and explore ways of improving and strengthening your present relationship as well as future relationships.
I have experience of working with many issues connected with relationships, I offer a safe and non-judgemental space to explore the problems you may be facing. I encourage communication in supporting clients to express their difficulties. Together we explore the familiar negative patterns recognising the triggers that can lead to conflict or withdrawal. I have noticed that once clients have a better understanding of why they, their partners or family members are triggered they are more willing to look for a more assertive and compassionate way to communicate. Subtle adjustments can make a huge difference in the satisfaction of any relationship. Improving communication can help couples re-connect, bringing greater intimacy into the relationship.
Practice description
Systemic and psychodynamic theory and practice underpin my work. I would describe my practice as integrative believing that there isn't just one therapeutic approach that fits all. I use elements of different approaches to help clients explore and cope with whatever problems they present to me.Currently I see clients from across the UK using zoom.
