As a dedicated full-time counsellor, I provide professional counselling services throughout the week, from Monday to Friday, with flexible evening and Saturday morning availability. My aim is to offer comprehensive support to clients residing in the UK, and I understand that not everyone can easily attend in-person sessions.
For clients seeking a personalised approach, I specialise in crafting bespoke, tailor-made counseling experiences that we can co-create to suit your unique needs. Whether you prefer face-to-face counselling or the convenience of online sessions, I'm here to accommodate your preferences.
I serve clients in various locations, including Haslemere, Farnham, Godalming, and Guildford. My commitment is to provide accessible and effective counselling services to individuals throughout the UK.
About me and my therapy practice
I come from a background rooted in entrepreneurship and commerce, and as I reflect on my journey, I've naturally evolved into a relationship strategist. This transformation has been driven by my belief that the foundation of any successful business lies in nurturing strong and meaningful connections. Over time, my roles have encompassed mentorship, advisory work, coaching, and now counselling. I hold a steadfast conviction that effective counselling hinges on the establishment of a robust therapeutic partnership between my clients and me.
Beyond my private counselling practice, I dedicate my time and expertise as a volunteer counsellor at the Fountain Centre, a cancer charity situated within the oncology department of the Royal Surrey Hospital. Here, I extend my support to those navigating the challenging terrain of cancer, offering my empathetic presence and guidance.
As a Person-Centered counsellor, I approach my work with a wealth of skills and an unwavering commitment to compassion. My passion lies in assisting individuals as they confront their personal obstacles and strive to reach their aspirations. I've developed a profound understanding of the unique needs and anxieties that my clients bring to the table, and my dedication lies in providing them with the resources and direction they require to flourish.
On a more personal note, when I'm not engaged in my counselling work, you'll often find me lost in my thoughts while taking leisurely walks with my two beloved Labradors.
Practice description
Here's what you can expect:
1. Mutual Contract: We'll start by establishing a working contract outlining expectations, boundaries, and goals for our counseling partnership. This ensures a safe, structured environment for your growth and healing.
2. Questionnaire: Expect to complete a questionnaire to gauge your emotional state, concerns, and goals.
3. Addressing Nervousness or Anxiety: Feeling nervous or anxious before your first session is normal, especially if it's your first experience with counselling. I understand the challenges of opening up, and we'll work at a comfortable pace.
4. Control Over Sharing: You have full control over what you discuss during sessions. There's no need to cover everything at once; we'll focus on what matters most to you, giving you the freedom to explore what you choose.
5. Flexible Duration: Our therapeutic journey has no fixed timeline. Progress is tailored to your goals, and we regularly review to ensure you receive the right support.
6. Confidentiality: Rest assured; your privacy is paramount. What's discussed in sessions remains confidential, except in situations requiring disclosure for safety.
7. Supportive, Non-Judgmental Environment: Anticipate a caring, non-judgmental space where you can freely express yourself. I'm here to listen, support, and help you navigate challenges.
8. Empathetic Approach: Our sessions are approached with empathy, understanding, and respect for your unique experiences. The aim is to offer insight, coping strategies, and personal growth.
9. Homework and Assignments: Depending on your goals, I may suggest homework or exercises to bolster progress between sessions.
10. Flexibility: Life can be unpredictable. If you need to reschedule or have specific preferences, communicate them, and I'll accommodate your needs.
You're not alone on this journey, and I'm committed to supporting you every step of the way. Start your transformative experience today.
My first session
I understand that taking the first step towards therapy can be both exciting and daunting. That's why I offer an initial, no-obligation, and free 20-minute phone session. During this session, I will provide you with a detailed explanation of my therapeutic approach and give you the opportunity to express what you hope to achieve through therapy. It's a chance for us to connect and for you to determine if I am the right counsellor for you.
Your well-being is my top priority, and I am here to address any questions or concerns you may have about the counselling process. Your comfort and confidence in our therapeutic relationship are essential, and I am committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for our work together.
To ensure that our sessions are tailored to your specific needs, I will ask you to complete an assessment form. This form allows me to gain a deeper understanding of how the challenges you're facing are impacting your day-to-day life. Additionally, it helps us establish clear and achievable therapy goals, ensuring that our sessions are productive and effective.
I respect your time and commitment to therapy, and I kindly request a 48-hour notice for any session cancellations. This allows me to manage my schedule effectively and accommodate other clients in need. Please note that any cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice will be charged in full.
I am dedicated to helping you find the support and guidance you need to lead a more fulfilling life. Together, we can work towards your goals and create positive change. T
