About me and my therapy practice

Hiya, I’m Freya. I'm a compassionate, curious, experienced therapist who will provide you with a supportive and judgment-free space to explore whatever you are going through and gain a deeper understanding of yourself. I understand that seeking counselling can be a really daunting process, therefore I am committed to putting you at ease and working at your pace. I hope to facilitate a space where you feel comfortable to show up as your authentic self- including all the messiness, humour, sorrow, swearing and weirdness that being human involves!

As an integrative counsellor with a person-centred background, I see each client as a unique individual and draw from a range of therapeutic techniques and theories to help you build your own emotional toolbox. This may include exploring past memories, relationships, or thought patterns together. I am also passionate about writing for wellbeing, and email monthly journal prompts for you to optionally explore in your own time, or together in sessions.

But mostly, I'm here to listen to your experience and walk alongside whatever you are going through. I hold with me at all times that this is your journey, your life and therefore we work together in a collaborative way.

Practice description

I offer face-to-face, online, or phone sessions- whatever works best for you.

Face to face sessions are from my therapy room in Bedminster.

Online sessions are via Google Meet.

Sessions are 50 minutes, typically weekly however we can discuss a frequency that would work best for you.

You are not obliged to sign up for a set number of sessions - some people try therapy and realise they are not ready yet, which is absolutely okay!

My first session

I offer a free 15 minute initial chat online so that you can get a feel for what it would be like to work together and ask any questions you might have. This also helps me to understand what brings you to counselling and your expectations or hopes of the process. I appreciate counselling is an investment, so after this meeting, I invite you to take your time to decide whether we are the right fit.

If we decide to work together, our first 50 minute session will be a deeper assessment. We may cover things like your background, what's brought you to therapy at this specific time, whether you've had any support before and if so what you liked or didn't like about it. However, we go at your pace and you only need to share what you feel comfortable sharing.
