About me and my therapy practice

Why do I feel like this?

Feeling overwhelmed and unsure where to begin is entirely normal. It can be frustrating and disheartening not having the answer to this question.

Or even more so if you know why but still can’t seem to shake it!

What is Counselling?

Counselling provides a safe, non-judgemental, and confidential space to explore these feelings.

Together, we can work to:

  • Reduce anxiety and depression.
  • Identify triggers and patterns impacting your life.
  • Develop practical tools to help you cope in the present moment.
  • Understand the impact of the past on how you feel now.
  • Set goals for moving forward.

Practice description

My Approach:

I understand counselling is a unique journey for each individual and a process.

Progress and positive change can take many shapes and forms.

I tailor my approach depending on your unique needs. Working at your pace while gently challenging you toward growth.

Below are some examples where counselling can help:

  • Improve your relationship with yourself and others.
  • Gain clarity of thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.
  • Feel more in control and less on auto-pilot.
  • Experience reduced anxiety and increased motivation.
  • Re-engage in activities that bring you joy and hope.
  • Discover healthy ways to manage overwhelming feelings.

Building a Trusting Relationship:

Building trust takes time, and I understand the importance of feeling comfortable and safe.

I bring with me a decade of experience and compassion, to support you through life's challenges.

How Do I Start?

I offer a free 30-minute introductory session by phone or video.

Introductory sessions can be held in person for £10 if preferred.

This allows you to get to know me and understand how counselling works, without any pressure to decide on the spot.

After reflecting, you can contact me to discuss the next steps.

Frequently Asked Questions:

My first session

How many sessions will I need?

Hard one to answer as it varies. I would recommend we discuss on the intro call what you wish to work on. We can go session by session or set a goal to review after a certain number. I normally recommend 6 sessions.

Are the sessions confidential?

What is said during the session remains confidential unless there are any safeguarding concerns which would be discussed with you. I discuss cases with a supervisor to ensure the highest quality of care, but your identity is protected during these sessions.

How does payment work?

The introductory session is free via phone or video. There is a £10 charge for this to be in-person. All introductory sessions are 30-minutes long. If we agree to move forward, sessions cost £45 and last for 50-minutes. Payments to be made by bank transfer prior to the session.

What can I expect during sessions?

We can clarify what support you need, what I can offer and how therapy can be used as a tool to support you. We may cover topics from the past and how that impacts you today. Whether there are any current challenges in your life you need support with. Or areas that you feel stuck. Counselling can be useful to process challenging thoughts, feelings and emotions within the safety of the space. I will be there to support you through this process.

Can I see you in person or online?

I provide counselling in person, online and by phone. With use of a quiet and comfortable space in Oldbury or Sutton Coldfield for in person sessions. Upon confirmation I send out an email with instructions on how to get to either centre with information on parking.

My role is in helping you gain awareness of how you think, feel and behave. Supporting you to find new ways aiming toward personal growth. Although I won't give you direct advice, I will provide suggestions and we can work on solutions together. Discovering what you need in order to move forward.
