Reaching out for help can feel quite daunting for some. However, if you are able to take that first step, I offer a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space where you can talk openly about the difficulties you are experiencing.
If you would like to enquire about having a counselling session with me, please do get in touch. I currently only offer sessions online via Zoom or by telephone but find these ways of working are usually just as effective as working in-person. I offer appointments Monday-Friday along with Saturday mornings, and I recognise life can be busy so I will try to be flexible to fit in with your schedule and availability.
About me and my therapy practice
If you are looking at this, I imagine you have reached a point in your life where you feel something needs to change. Maybe you are experiencing difficult emotions, relationship problems or unhelpful behaviour patterns. Perhaps you are feeling anxious, sad, stressed, lonely or lacking confidence in yourself. Whatever you are going through at the moment, I offer a compassionate, warm and accepting space where you can safely explore your difficulties. You can expect to feel fully supported whilst developing a better understanding of yourself, and working towards making positive changes in your life.
Counselling is a safe place for you to talk openly about what you are going through and how you feel about it. You can expect to feel heard and understood, and will be met with empathy and compassion whilst we explore the issues at hand and what you hope to achieve from our time together. Although everyone has individual goals, our work is likely to include gently developing a greater understanding of yourself and your difficulties, as well as exploring some coping skills, strengths, resources, or new perspectives which may be helpful.
Practice description
I am an integrative counsellor which means I am trained and experienced in using a variety of different counselling theories and techniques. This allows me to tailor my approach to whatever is likely to be most beneficial for you. We are all individuals and we have unique experiences going through life. This is why I don’t believe there can be a ‘one size fits all’ approach to counselling. I will always be guided by you, and whatever feels most helpful for you.My first session
Finding a counsellor that you feel safe opening up to is very important, and this is why I offer a free 15 minute telephone or online appointment, to give you an opportunity to check if you would feel comfortable working with me. If not, there is never any expectation to book any further appointments.
Our first session is likely to involve giving you space to talk about your situation in more detail, along with identifying your goals and what you hope to achieve through counselling.
