About me and my therapy practice
I know life can throw unexpected ups and downs at you. In our sessions, we will explore how you can build resilience and turn a page on what no longer feels helpful or fulfilling for you. We will work together to identify what you need from therapy, tailoring your counselling sessions to you. I believe you are the expert in your life, together with my knowledge of Counselling and Psychotherapy, I can support you in achieving your goals.

My name is Kelly, I am a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I work Integratively, meaning I pull different parts of counselling together to shape a unique and tailor-made approach to your counselling sessions.
Bringing person-centred, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Polyvagal theory, psychodynamic, Internal Family Systems and creative techniques together, allows me to work collaboratively with you to make your therapy sessions fit your needs.
Before training as a counsellor, I studied social science, which allowed me to develop a systemic understanding of our world. Similarly to my work as an integrative counsellor, studying social science allows me to bring elements of sociology, history, politics and psychology into my work and has allowed me to develop a broad and diverse understanding of ‘being human.'
Get in touch now to find out how I can support you via email, my website or social media.
While my knowledge and understanding of Counselling and Psychotherapy will at times guide us through our sessions, I believe that the therapeutic relationship we establish is where true change happens. By offering clients a safe, stable space to explore what brings them to therapy I have seen the importance of allowing a strong therapeutic alliance to be built upon. Working Human-to-Human to allow you to move towards the place you want to be, with me walking alongside you in the process.

When we no longer have a family member in our lives, this can bring mixed and confusing feelings that we might not know what to do with. The person isn’t in our life, it feels that they are gone but they haven’t died. We can feel a lack of closure, guilt, and questions of why
Working together to understand what you need now and how you can continue to support yourself as this situation unfolds, moving toward a place of acceptance as it is now, supporting you in feeling more settled.
My first session
I offer all new clients a one-off FREE and no-obligation 15 Minute Telephone or Video call to allow us to decent together if we would like to work together.
In our first session together we will explore what brings you to counselling, although you don't have to talk about anything you aren't ready to. Maybe we will start off with general themes and later explore them in detail. Or maybe you need to offload first.
I understand that for some the first session can feel daunting, as we walk together we will gently explore what comes up for you in our session and look at how we might like to work on this in future sessions to allow us to shape your sessions to you.
I know reaching out for help can sometimes feel difficult or overwhelming, which is one reason why considering your preferences is important to me. I aim to offer you a space to feel safe exploring yourself, free of judgement and confidence.

In-Person Sessions
My office in the centre of Kirkcaldy, allows us to have sessions together in-person. My therapy room has 2 large windows, which often creates a light warm environment while benefiting from a sense of privacy as we will be off street level on the first floor. While you wait for our session to begin, there is a waiting area for you to relax in. I am located a 7-minute walk from Kirkcaldy Train Station.
