About me and my therapy practice
My approach to psychotherapy is integrated and collaborative; I believe my clients to be experts in their own experiences and I work with them relationally to explore how they live, experience and relate to the world and others, working with them to unpack deeply held beliefs about themselves and others, with the shared aim of long-lasting change.
I have a particular interest in psychodynamic and trauma-informed approaches.
I work in private practice and the NHS, which offers a spectrum of experience and an awareness of the services and community support available for mental illness.
My first session
I offer a 15 minute phone call to get a brief understanding of challenges you are facing, and for you to ask any questions you may have before our first session.
In the first session it is helpful to get a clear picture of your current context and some of your past experience alongside the challenges that bring you to therapy, and to establish some therapeutic goals and how best we might work together -e.g. in an open ended or time-limited way.
