About me and my therapy practice
I understand how difficult it can be to take that first step into finding a therapist and be open about your thoughts and feelings. Maybe you are struggling with how you are feeling or want to talk through some fears from the past or about the future? Perhaps you are feeling lost at where your life has taken you right now.
I can reassure you that I work in an open, honest and non-judgemental way using the core conditions of person centred therapy (empathy, unconditional positive regard and congruence) to ensure and compassion for all my clients.
I offer a safe, warm space where you can feel heard, seen and free to explore anything that is concerning you. I also work online on zoom at a reduced rate.
I trained as a person centred counsellor although my approach is more integrative now as it allows me the chance to ensure your recovery journey is personal to you. I also work in Transactional Analysis to work at a deeper relational level.
I have worked as a school counsellor, associate counsellor, practitioner in the NHS, Counselling Skills Lecturer and have over 15 years experience of supporting young people and adults with varying levels of mental health need, from mild to diagnosed complex mental health conditions, including amongst others;
anxiety
depression
low mood

Practice description
I can offer you the opportunity for a discrete and confidential space to talk about your concerns.
You can expect a warm welcome and complete honesty from me. Our first session will involve getting to know each other and seeing if I am the right person for you. We will explore together what it is that has brought you into therapy and talk about what it is you want to change or achieve.
We may set some goals to work towards or decide that therapy is an opportunity for you to off load and talk with me being a gentle ear to reflect back to you.
Whatever path you decide you can be assured that it will be the right one for you, I will help you to feel held and safe in sessions and work with you to be confident in trusting the process, keeping your best interests always as a priority.
