About me and my therapy practice
Everyone is different. I am a BACP registered integrative psychotherapist and counsellor which means I can use different approaches according to your needs. This may include identifying and exploring your emotions, looking at how your past is impacting your present or focusing on strategies to help you move forward.
In person therapy costs £70 per session (this includes room booking). Online sessions are £55.
I hold a Level 2 and 3 in Counselling and a Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling. I also have certificates in Mental Health and the Body: Treating Trauma and Working with Trauma that has Become Stuck. I have a Proficiency in Online Counselling certificate.
Further CPD training includes anxiety, CBT, personality disorders and nutrition relating to wellbeing.
I have a background in politics and senior charity management and hold a BA (Hons) in History and Politics and an MA in Political Philosophy.
Practice description
If you are reading this you may have been scrolling through many profiles wondering how to choose and confused about all the options.
I can help if you are feeling persistently anxious or suffering from low mood. Maybe everything feels overwhelming or you are feeling stuck and unable to get what you want or even know what you want.
Perhaps you are finding it hard to deal with difficult thoughts or emotions from relationships and events now or in the past. Your 'inner-critic' may be daily undermining your confidence. Are you constantly comparing yourself to others? Experiencing feelings of shame? Or never feeling good enough?
You may be suffering from previous 'trauma' which can show itself in behaviours such as 'hyper-vigilance', reactions to events that feel 'disproportionate' or 'emotional flashbacks' that can sabotage your enjoyment of daily life.
I offer a warm, supportive space, free from judgement to explore your issues at your own pace. Expect a down to earth, empathetic approach with a little bit of gentle humour on occasion.
How can therapy help me?
Therapy can help you to gain:
A deeper understanding of yourself and why you feel and act the way you do
Greater emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing
Improved self-awareness, self-acceptance and ability to trust yourself and your instincts
More understanding and respect for others and enhanced ability to experience authentic intimacy and connection.
My first session
I know that entering into therapy is a big step and can be daunting. I offer a free 15 minutes video (or phone) call so we can talk about your needs and decide if I am the right therapist to help you.
If you decide to go ahead we will have an initial assessment where we will set some goals for you and agree a number of sessions. These will be reviewed as we go along so we can check if you feel you are making progress and decide any changes that need to be made. I aim to help you feel consulted and involved throughout.
