About me and my therapy practice

Hi, My name is Lorna Lindsay and I am a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. I am also a registered member of BACP. And I work in accordance with their ethical framework. I am available for face - to - face, online and telephone therapy sessions. It is important to keep your mental health as healthy as your physical health. If you feel you would like someone to talk to about any problems pertaining to your mental health, please get in touch and we can work together to find a solution.

For depression and/or trauma, I would normally work with you for 8 sessions with cognitive behavioural therapy. We may include other empirical therapies, which we could discuss. Most patients see gradual lifting of symptoms within a month and consistent improvement thereafter.

Practice description

I am a very empathetic, caring person, and this shows in my therapeutic treatment with my clients. My first goal is to create a good client / therapist alliance before we even begin to do any work together. It is important that the client feels at ease with their therapist, to be able to share the issues that have brought them to see a therapist in the first place. Once we are sure we are a good fit as a client/therapist, we can move on to do collaborative work.

My first session

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my practice, as this is my main modality. In your first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy, and then decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress. With CBT, we'll look at how your thoughts affect your emotions and experience. During treatment, I'll help you learn how to push back against those thoughts to change your feelings for the better.
