About me and my therapy practice
I am particularly and personally motivated to offer psychotherapy to help those who suffer with depression and low self esteem.
My person-centred approach emphasises the importance of providing a therapeutic relationship that offers the opportunity for internal peace and enabling personal growth. We will explore and come to an understanding of your experience of the world that gives room for healing.
As a person-centred therapist, I feel it is important for therapy not only to gently and safely explore your inner world and depression, but also to offer you the comfort that you are not alone in your struggle with illness as you gradually are able to rebuild and take control.
I have an interest in using expressive arts to treat depression and my postgraduate work at the University of Salford (MSc) investigates the therapeutic benefit of writing poetry for those with severe depression.
Practice description
Currently I offer online therapy only, and plan to offer face to face sessions later this year (2023).
My services are provided through my company: Clayhouse Consulting Ltd.
At the outset of therapy we will agree a contract, agreeing how and when we will work together. This includes the BACP Ethical Framework, client confidentiality and the relevant data protection regulations as overseen by the Information Commissioner’s Office.
My first session
I am happy to offer a free introductory 30 minute session so we can assess your needs, goals and the way I work, which will I hope allow you to consider whether we can work together. This introductory session is not intended to be therapeutic.
