About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced practitioner working with young people and adults in my private practice, which is based near Canterbury and in Faversham Town Centre.
Since the Pandemic, I have supported clients with emotional and mental trauma, emotional dysregulation, exhaustion, bereavement, isolation and burnout.
I support clients with Autism, Adhd, eating issues, women's & men's health, self-injury and sexual health and identity. I support clients with anxiety, depression, addiction and sexual and domestic abuse.
I believe that genuineness, empathy, a non-judgemental attitude, care and warmth are the principal qualities for a strong therapeutic relationship to grow. This is at the heart of my practice and enables confidence, reassurance and openness, allowing for self-acceptance and self-awareness to develop. I endeavour to help you feel safe when exploring your internal and external world, build resilience and make sense of your thoughts and feelings. I believe I have a strong sense of authenticity as a counsellor and this can encourage you to bring your own true self to the sessions.
As an integrative therapist, I use modalities such as Psychodynamic, Solution-Focused Therapy, CBT, Existential Therapy and Gestalt. I have also trained in evidence-based coaching which focuses on behaviour and goal achievement.
Practice description
I am an experienced BACP registered and qualified integrative counsellor and coach. I offer one-to-one therapy online and face-to-face.
I am an experienced practitioner working with adults and young people in my private practice, which is based near Canterbury & Faversham. I support within several areas including Autism, Adhd, eating issues, post-pandemic stress and sexual health and identity.
Since 1996 I have worked as a teacher and in the last 9 years as a counsellor. In school and in my private practice I work with young people and adults, some of whom are autistic and / or have adhd. This can involve developing awareness of strengths, navigating difficulties and creating a space to understand identity. This may include sensory processing issues, inattention, low self-esteem, sexual identity, eating issues and executive function.
I work extensively with young people and adults with self-injury, eating issues, bereavement, anxiety, trauma, sexual abuse, domestic abuse, sexual health, relationships, women’s & men's health and issues relating to sexual identity. More recently, I have worked with many issues relating to Covid-19 and lockdown such as bereavement, social anxiety & burnout.
