About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Antalia!
I'm an integrative therapist and am here to hear your story. There is such power in being witnessed, and as my training and passion permits, I am here to provide you with a safe and compassionate space to explore your emotional needs, at your pace.
How do I work? Well, my training allows me to draw on varied therapeutic approaches, such as person-centred, psychodynamic or CBT. Sometimes in therapy, the work requires focus on the emotions in the "here and now", and other times, it may take you on a path to childhood or past memories.
Ultimately, I will work alongside you with what you choose to bring, and I will be your non-judgemental, listening ear as we navigate your feelings and experiences together.
No matter how you have shown up or what has brought you here, I welcome you to this space. It is positive that you are looking for support, or perhaps, you may just be curious to understanding what therapy is all about.
Whatever your reasons, I hope you find what you are looking for and you are welcome to send me a message or email me with any questions you may have.
Practice description
I have worked with clients aged 18+, exploring issues such as: depression, anxiety, body image, eating disorders, self-harm, childhood abuse, stress, self-esteem, grief, sexuality, and transitions to college or university. I have also worked with neurodivergent individuals and adapt sessions to suit their unique and evolving needs.
I am open to working with clients aged 11+.
I offer in person, online and phone sessions.
I have worked in the mental health field for 9 years, having recent experience working at a London based eating disorder clinic.
My first session
The first session can seem scary - I hear that. Know that is ok to turn up and to feel however you do. I am not here to judge, after all. This is a chance for us to meet and to get know each other, as therapist and client, and to establish a working relationship.
My role as a practitioner is to ensure safety and confidentiality of the space, which means we will agree to a way of working together that is professionally bound by BACP's Ethical Framework.
The first session is slightly different to others, as we will go through what is called a 'working agreement': this covers agreed times of sessions, contact hours, confidentiality limits and payment process.
We will also work through an initial assessment together, which will provide me a snapshot of what brings you to therapy and any past experiences that you may like to explore.
This is also the time to tell me your desires and expectations of the therapy. You are the priority in this relationship, so I will work to my best ability to ensure your needs are heard and met.
Starting anything new can feel challenging, and that is why I personally think starting and even contemplating therapy is such a brave choice.
